One rainy September afternoon in 2008, a microblogging thread said: we want a web design conference. The response to it was overwhelming.
In just three days an online planning site was created and an offline meeting was scheduled. There we agreed to establish a formal organization for everybody who practiced web design, both the professionals and the hobbyists.
On March 31, 2009, the Philippine Web Designers Organization (PWDO) was formally recognized by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock corporation.
On July 10, 2009, the first <form> function() & class Philippine Web Design Conference was held at the Asian Institute of Management in Makati. We also hold smaller, more informal conferences every other month.
Joining PWDO makes you part of the definitive organization in the Philippines for web designers. You'll also gain access to job opportunities, resource materials, and exclusive events that will further your career as a web designer.
We have only 3 very doable requirements: an annual membership fee, organizing a mini web design conference, and your portfolio. Fill out the membership application form here.
Please contact us at info@webdesignph.org for further inquiries.
We'd like to thank everyone who attended the first Philippine Web Design Conference on July 10, 2009 at the Asian Institute of Management, Makati City.
